The check engine light came on, the ABS light came on, Cruise light kept blinking. A whole lot of lights started flashing. Obviously, after 1 week of buying the car seeing these lights flashing on the dashboard you become concerned. Embedded software developers like the check engine light and programmed it to flash even for minor reasons to give drivers a headache. After one week of continuous searching and after trying all the other troubleshooting found out that it was the gas cap. It happened again after 2 years and the same pattern of lights started flashing. But this time I knew the problem and the solution so had to replace the gas cap again.
