My 2011 Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited was an amazing vehicle. It was fun to drive and I felt very comfortable behind the wheel. Never had I any problem with taking off or slowing down. With the 3.6 H-6 motor the Outback also came with the upgraded braking system. When the roadways were wet or snowy I would often times do a "brake check" to determine how slick the roads were. The ABS System performed flawlessly. Until one night in January I was driving my friend back to his home and crested a hill where I saw an animal (large dog or small deer) running towards the road. I was driving the speed limit (55) when I hit the brakes and they locked up, this threw the rear of the vehicle into the dirt perpendicular to the road. I released the brake pedal to regain control and straighten the vehicle out once more. I reapplied the brakes when they locked up for a second time and the last thing I remember was hitting a deep ditch, flipping in the air and hitting a power pole about 4 feet off of the ground. The car was totaled and I barely left the scene with my life.
