The car was recalled for faulty airbag. The mechanic told me the airbag problem did not effect the airbag warning light and that was a separate fix. The mechanic also said that as long as the light was on, the airbag would not work. This has been ongoing thru 3 recalls to date.

The passenger air bag sensor keeps coming on intermittently. The car was just in for the recall and it started the next day after I got the car back. This must be a recall issue. they want over $300 to fix. Probably just a code reset and they want that much. Subaru better get on board with this as it will not go away.

Car is at dealership today for them to replace the defective passenger side airbag.

The airbag light on my dash has been lighting up off and on for 2 months. Dealer is going to check it today but charging a $99 diagnostic fee. This is Subaru of Richmond. An airbag issue should be covered by the manufacturer, especially when I read so many complaints about this.

My bet is they know exactly why the light is on and the $99 fee is a rip-off.

The airbag light goes on. I had the it start right before I had it in for recall. When it came back the light went on as I was taking the car home but went off and didn't come back on until today. It appears to go off when I start the car but comes back on when I put it in gear. I thought the placement of the new air bag took care of this but today I see others have had this problem and the fix doesn't appear to be know and most seem to think it is not a safety problem.

I have had this problem for years and no mechanic has ever mentioned any concern about it. When I asked the dealer years ago they were no concerns about it being a problem. It has been on when I have taken it in to three different mechanics over the years (one being the dealer) and no one says a thing about it. I am a Lufthansa driver and this light will probably fail my inspection the first of the year and keep me from being able to drive for them. My biggest concern is whether the air bags will function properly in an accident or prematurely. The dealer indicated to me when I inquired years ago that they would work properly and not prematurely.

Ditto to all the other complaints on the intermittent illuminated air bag light. Annoying to say the least, but am now concerned enough to screw up the nerve to take to a dealership and have it checked out. My local mechanic said he couldn't find anything although the light (of course!) was not acting up at that time. Will be interesting but at least I know this is not a solitary problem. This is one drawback to modern safety features - the more there are, the more potential for problems.

Intermittent. Airbag dash light on especially on wet cold days, so that's a hint that it is electrical. This has been going on for years. Dealer said that to fix it would require replacing a variety of items, all expensive, each time with NO guarantee of success. Very discouraging. Amazing that this is not a recall!!

With so many complaints, should be recalled and paid for by Subaru since it is a safety issue.
