I bought the car, 5 years old, with 123,000 miles. I could barely hear a noise at the time. The dealer said, "bring it back when we can hear it and we'll troubleshoot it." Not long after, it got a bit worse. I troubleshot it down to the clutch bearing. It made noise until I put slight pressure on the clutch pedal. Otherwise, I wouldn't notice it. Two years later, 173,000 miles total, the clutch makes a bit of noise, but is still functional. As far as I know (I bought it from the original dealer after it was traded in) it is still the original clutch. One day I will fix it, but I'm waiting for catastrophic failure of the clutch, or at least major slipping, before I spend big money for the clutch. So far, it's OK, but noisy.
