Car is 6 months old. Traveled 500 miles to visit family at Thanksgiving and parked the car in a public parking garage. Car would not start 4 days later. When pressing the start button, all the dash board indicator lights would flash along with a clicking noise. Brake peddle is stiff. Engine doesn't even attempt to turn over. My son jumped the battery using a compact car and a pair of light duty jumper cables but it still wouldn't start. We allowed his engine to run for 30 minutes to help "charge" my battery. Still won't start. Now I'm not even getting the flashing dash lights and clicking sound. Everything electrical in the car went dead including the door locks and trunk lock. Called Subaru emergency road service and they arrived 1.5 hrs later. He immediately tested the battery, alternator, etc, and I was shocked to hear him say the battery & alternator were fine. He jumped the battery with his truck and a pair of heavy duty cables. Car started up and we drove home without further issues. I'm furious. How can we possibly leave this vehicle in an airport parking lot should we want to fly somewhere for 4 days?
