Subaru Legacy has a problem with the park shift sensor. When putting the vehicle into park, the gear shift lever is not properly mated to the transmission and doesn't recognize that the vehicle is in park. This prevents the driver from turning off the vehicle power and prevents the key from being removed from the ignition. Reversing & driving the vehicle forward again did allow me to get my key out a couple of times. Once it started failing, within a week the key would get stuck 90% of the time. The CVT transmission select lever required a new plate. TSB NUMBER: 16-112-18R. Luckily mine was covered under extended warranty due to low mileage. The parts were less than $100, but it did require 2 hours labour. The biggest issue was that because I couldn't turn the vehicle's electrical off or remove the key it was a major security risk, so my vehicle was undriveable for more than a week until I could get the dealer to fix it.

It's not cool that I cannot put the car into park when I come to a parking stop and I cannot turn off engine. It happens too frequently. I will definitely video tape next time.
