After turning onto my inclined, somewhat long driveway, and applying a soft braking when entering my garage, the car suddenly sped up to a high speed and crashed into the wall which had two layers of plastic storage boxes in front of it. The boxes pushed the wall into my house which pushed my dining room hutch forward causing the top part to fall back and break just about all the crystal and heirloom items inside it. The top part of the hutch is unrepairable. My car was damaged, my home is damaged, and my hutch is ruined. I am now afraid to ever park in my garage again with this vehicle. I am also afraid of this happening elsewhere where I might possible injure others or myself.

After sitting in driveway for 3 days, vehicle would barely start, strong exhaust smell, rat nest on top of engine and chewed hoses and wiring. Had towed into dealership. Advised of rodent damage. Replaced: Engine wiring harness, transmission harness, transmission insulation, firewall insulation, hood insulation, fuel transfer pipes, and fuel lines at engine bay. Cleaned excess debris from engine bay and fuel bay (they had to drop the fuel tank). Reassembled. Final cost, including tow charge: $4557.42. Thankfully, insurance covered, minus our $1000 deductible. Green cars, not green in the wallet.

Takata recall while driving approx 60-65 mph in the fast lane of I-24 interstate with driver's foot on the gas pedal, all lights on the dash board suddenly came on and the Subaru went into automatic braking system, causing the front to go into a nose dive, and the brakes stayed locked. An accident incurred and the Subaru as well as a vehicle behind were totaled. Low back, wrist and neck injuries occurred to the driver of Subaru Legacy. A claim was submitted to Subaru. It has been two months and no follow up has occurred. Finally with legal assist, the Legacy will be examined by a "Subaru" engineer to determine the cause.

In January of 2015, I purchased a new 2015 Subaru Legacy with the latest safety features and equipment. Within 3 months of purchase of the Legacy beginning in April of 2015 the radio/navigation/driver assistance display console began to lock up and become non-operable after about 15 minutes of operation. The dealer (matt slapp Subaru of newark, Delaware) had difficulty diagnosing the problem and called in the Subaru regional technician to try to recommend a fix. He recommended a complete replacement of the center console radio and display. This all took several months. When the replacement unit came in, we brought the car in for the repairs shortly after the new radio/display console had been installed, the same problem we had before was evident. In addition, we were unable to access the map and navigational function at all with the new unit. At about the same time as we were discovering this, the dealer called to tell us that the computerized inventory accounting system had flagged the mismatch between our model and the radio/navigation console that had been installed in my Subaru. We returned the car to the dealer again and for the second time a new and correct model radio/navigation console was installed. We now had access to the navigation system screen and maps again going into the fall of 2015 and for the rest of the winter everything seemed to be working fine. But during a warm spell in April of 2016 the problem cropped up again and I began to maintain a log (attached) of the occurrences which became more and more frequent as we moved into summer during the month of July the system locked up on the ride home at the end of the day on almost every sunny, warm day. Since it doesn't happen until I'm on my way and traveling on high speed, limited access highways for 90% of my commute when it's difficult to find a safe place to pull off the road,

Electronic parking brakes will not release. Eye sight system error light on -- says to see dealer. Vehicle is in low clearance parking garage - flatbed tow truck cannot enter. Brakes are stuck on. Front of vehicle facing garage wall, which is partially open (looking through to another level). Vehicle is on a slight downward incline facing wall. Seems like all 4 brakes are locked even in neutral. Car starts fine and runs, can enter R N & D, but will not move. New vehicle -- tow truck operator does not know how to release brakes for this model year, since it is different from previous year. Vehicle received eye sight recall notification recently, but vehicle has not been serviced yet. Suspect eye sight is to blame, as it has been behaving in erratic fashion over the last few months. (turns off in extremely light rain, when it should not, stays off for a while, then turns on in heavy rain)

On April 11th we bought our brand new Subaru Legacy it had maybe 34 miiles on it (give or take) my husband drives the car and a couple of days having the car the radio/backup camera/phone system crashes- it happened a couple of times. On April 14th my husband brought the car into service. Now I am going to just speed things up put all service visits in one explanation as I do not have many characters left. In the 8 times that we have been to service with loaner cars, they replaced the radio once. They couldn't replicate the issue, so we sent them video of it. They had no clue what to do with it so they sent to Japan and waiting for an answer. In the meantime, there is a sweet smell coming from the engine. Service says that there is no leak and the smell is normal and fine. We do not agree. I have had many new cars and the engine never smells like that. When my husband picked up the car yesterday from service there is a huge ding in the back side. My husband didn't notice until he got home. I have already called Subaru corporate and every time they say, "we have to hear what service has to say." It has been two months and still no resolution. How long am I supposed to wait to see what the next steps are?

I think there is a potential recall problem with eyesight-equipped 2015 Legacy models. I took my car in several weeks ago because one day all of the hazard lights came on, including the ABS light and the brake light (flashing red) on the speedometer gauge, the eyesight and the anti-skid light on the center console, and the check engine light, the adaptive cruise control light, and the lane departure light on the tachometer. I stopped driving it for two days while I waited for my service appointment day to arrive. The lights did not come back on when I drove it to the dealer. The service department kept my car for a day and said that the lights must have come on as an "attention getting device" to alert me that the car was about a quart low on oil (even though it was not quite yet time for my 6 month/6,000 mile oil change). After getting the recommended oil change, I drove the car without any problems for several weeks. This past weekend, the problem occurred again. All of the lights mentioned above came on and stayed on when I started it and pulled out of my garage. Based on my last experience, I drove the car anyway. Later in the day, when I turned the car on again, all of the lights once again came on and stayed on, except that this time the brake and the ABS lights were not illuminated. The car can be driven, but cruise control and associated features (lane departure, etc.) do not work when these lights are on. After driving the car with these lights on all day Saturday (including several complete shutdowns followed by restarts an hour or two later), the problem disappeared the next day, just as it did last month. I took pictures of my dash both times when the lights came on this past weekend. I can supply them on request. It has only been a few weeks and 1000 miles or so since my last oil change, so I think we can rule out that explanation.

2015 Legacy 3.6R purchased 12/18/14 two major safety issues: 1) snow / water entering engine compartment while driving and causing a burning smell inside cabin and exterior. 2) water leak inside cabin at driver foot well area. Engine burning smell: 1/7 notified dealer of burning smell which appeared to be coming from engine/under car and inside cabin while car was idling. Dealer reviewed and was unable to replicate. 2/23/15 returned to dealer again, once again unable to replicate 2/28/15 3255 miles - brought to another Subaru dealer; dealer confirmed smell in writing and cited due to "rustproof coating from factory on exhaust". 3/3/15 - driving in another snow storm, smelled burning again, parked and opened hood - discovered water / snow all over engine compartment; on top of battery and covering all electrical components; have pictures. There is evidence of water stains and rust corrosion all over engine compartment, on electrical wires and the plastic white fuse connectors are discolored. Salt stains underneath engine hood and all over engine body. Standing water underneath the batter cradle as well as snow. Seems worse on left side then right but both sides have water. Engine hood is flush with bumper - doesn't appear to be any fit issue, however the only weather strip is a small piece above the grill area and does not stretch across and over the lights. 3/3/15 contacted Subaru of America and dealer - no response - yet. ****this is a major safety mechanical concern. At no time should water ever enter the engine compartment*** 2) water leak in cabin 3/2/15 discovered water leak inside cabin - driver foot well area. Notified Subaru of american on 3/2 and dealer. Known issues documented online with Subaru crosstrek and prior Legacy model years.

I have a 2015 Subaru Legacy and the srvd (blind spot & rear backup detection) system keeps malfunctioning. Happens when the vehicle is started and does not go away when driving. Took the car to the Subaru dealer and they could not solve the issue. This is a designed safety system and not working it becomes as safety issue.

Driving on freeway with cruise set at 72mph, reached down to the center council to grab an item, and pulled up on the electronic parking brake button. The button is located too close to reachable places. The car came to a scratching halt, lucky the vehicles behind me were able to swerve out of the way in time.
