Suddenly after 27 mos of perfect performance the NAV stopped being accurate. This is a HUGE safety issue because I am not constantly distracted from the road trying to find street signs, addresses, etc. as the NAV is off by 100-150 feet at random intervals. It has NOT performed accurately in months. After several discussions and heated arguments with Subaru they finally claim to have put in a new head unit which DID NOT fix the problem, it actually got worse as it started at 50 feet off and now its 100-150 feet off. I was given the car back and told that "spec is within 300 feet" so we're done with you and your car and it's your problem. Tough luck sucker, I guess is their policy when the repair requires work. It is impossible for me to comprehend why this issue started AFTER 27 months and why Subaru is wringing theirs hands and basically admitting they lack the technical competence to maintain and service a car that is under warranty.
This has totally eroded any confidence I have in their commitment to passenger safety. It seems they only care about safety when it's easy but once it becomes hard you're out of luck. I can put a 10 year old smart phone on my dash with wi-fi and get pinpoint accuracy with Waze and Google Map but the fancy Legacy onboard NAV is useless and in my opinion extremely dangerous.
