Car owned from 2004 and really no major complaints beyond this one and some rear fender rust which I had recently bondoed over. Had overheated occasionally in the past but simply topped up, didn't realize that leak had probably started past head gasket. Finally blew white smoke through exhaust last May and I realized that the head gasket had gone. Got one estimate of 11 hours of labor to fix but decided to junk the car given its age and figuring there was a chance that additional work may have been necessary once the pistons/cylinders were visible.
