This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The car will stop running abruptly after running for several hours and getting low on fuel. No check engine lights or other lights come on. No gas light comes on. I have taken it to 2 dealerships who cannot replicate the problem. The electrical components all stay on, but the motor will not run. The vehicle will start again when fuel is added to the tank, or when it is allowed to cool. I am 100% sure that the fuel pimp is overheating, but neither the dealer nor Subaru will replace it, though it is under warranty. It happens at highway speeds when the tank is below 1/4 after driving for around 2-3 hours or more.
