I feel really betrayed by Subaru because they know there is a problem and their "extended warranty" is a sham because the problem is going to start being worse after the 100K they are covering on most cars. Since most people drive less than 12K a year or will trade out, they are hoping to avoid doing a lot of warranty work that really addresses the issue instead of ethically dealing with it upfront.
As a person unable to work due to illness right now, this added expense has become an added financial hardship and the devaluation of the resale value isn't helping either as more of these recall issues come to light and consumer faith disintegrates.
I strongly encourage Subaru to consider repair reimbursement costs to owners of affected vehicles on these lemon CVTs past the 100K and to make it a lifetime warranty or offer a SIGNIFICANT trade in on a new vehicle. As owners we made a commitment based on their reputation... and they should honor that trust in return.
NOTE: Subaru sent out a sensor recall that is tied into the transmission. If you have replaced the sensor and still have lights coming on that was the first sign of the transmission failure to come.
