If it hasn't already caused accidents I would be completely amazed. I have seen, on at least Subaru and Volkswagen, brake lights and turn signal lights which are virtually impossible to distinguish in real-life driving scenarios. I am an exceptionally skilled and attentive driver so this hasn't caused me any harm yet, but I know most drivers are not skilled or attentive.
