The contact owns a 2008 Subaru Impreza. Upon entering the vehicle, the contact noticed there was frost on the inside of the front windshield. The contact also stated a white film developed on the inside of the front windshield when using the heater. The frost showed up intermittently during cold weather and the white film was noticed whenever the heater was operated. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed. The failure and current mileages were 36,000.
I cannot keep the windshield on my new 2008 Impreza fog free. The dealer noticed a "film" on it and cleaned it. The fogging returned after a day. I've used anitifogging solution that lasts about 3 days and the "film" and fogging returns. This can be very dangerous after dark since when the fogging is most pronounced. There must be something inside the car (possibly a silicone spray) that's causing this. Whatever it is, it hinders the drivers vision and is dangerous.
