Drove to work, when left work noticed rough Idle. Seconds later Check Engine light came on. Went home very gently. Towed the car to Subaru Of Gwinnett, Duluth GA couple days later. Diagnosed broken ringland on cylinder number 4.
Subaru Of America (later here SOA) being represented by Kevin Shoemaker said that they will not cover this under warranty because "these things don't just break"! Later during discussion he mentioned worn ebrake, worn clutch and WORN TIRES!!! When I confronted him he quickly backed off saying that their final decision is that they don't find this problem to be part defect so it's not covered. Hold on, is engine made by Subaru? Yes, is piston made by Subaru? Yes So how can it not be a part defect??? Car was NEVER modified or tracked or anything like that. This is just ridiculous. There is plenty more people with broken engines in these cars that SOA refused to repair under warranty. Currently exploring legal way of resolving issue with SOA.
BEWARE OF SUBARU. YOU WILL DRIVE LIKE A GRANNY (excuse me Grandma), engine will fail and you will be denied warranty!!!!
