I have spent over 4k repairing this vehicle and this by far is the biggest pain in my ass. At elevations over 2000 ft, the vehicle's rpms will rev on its own as high as 5k rpms. My foot is nowhere near the gas petal. The usual driving condition that this occurs at is when I am traveling at higher rates of speed (40mph+) and come to slow for a stop light or to make a turn. If i engage the clutch the rpms spike up and will not cease unless I either a: turn the car off while still moving which is dangerous, or b: it will (usually) rapidly fix itself if i disengage the clutch, but not always fast enough. I was attempting to make a right hand turn last year and the car almost launched itself into a truck. Four mechanics have looked it over and could not find the issue. I cannot trust my car anywhere except at sea level, and even then I still occasionally have this issue, so in my driveway is where it now stays.
