I noticed an annoying rattle under my car when I was going up hills, and the problem quickly spread to when I am driving on the highway and almost always. I took it to the dealer and they said it is a "ping" and that I should use higher octane gas. Which cost 20 cents more a litre (B. S) They also acted like it didn't have anything to do with them and that I should try and pay for all these services to fix it. I now realize that their "warranty" is a big scam to get you to pay 500$ for an oil change. I believe I have bought my last Subaru.
The engine started to rattle like something is loose inside the engine when accerlerating up an incline about 5 months after the purchased. I think the problem is call engine "ping". I took the car back to the Subaru service center to have the engine checked. I was told that nothing was wrong with the engine and I should use a higher grade of gasoline. I have been using the prem. grade and the problem still persists. I took the car back two more times and I was told they will contact their technician to check on the electrical/computer system. Have not heard anything since. The problem is quite annoying and detracts from the fun of driving this car.
