Potentially serious problem due to engine overheating. The car would start to heat in the mountains, probably due to difference in atmospheric pressure. Had to keep an eye on the temperature gauge. Had to stop to let the engine cool down. Had to fill up with coolant once. Cost of new radiator around 90 euros. No problem with temperature since replaced.
Radiator sprung a leak. Even now it seems to be getting too hot in the engine compartment.
I noticed that I am losing coolant slowly.
Sadly this is a 2.5L engine and I believe the head gasket is on it's way out (A known Subaru problem so I am led to believe - sadly I have only just found out).
Not certain if a radiator blow out is connected to HG failure - but the mechanic said that it is possible that water is getting into the combustion chamber. If that water is then coming out again - I can imagine that it is warmer than when it went in...
