Since I've owned the vehicle there's been a random issue with tailgate automatic opening/closing system. Sometimes it refuses to open automatically and when it happens the hatch has to be reinitiated manually but other times this does not work either and the trunk opens when travelling because it does not lock. So it means that you need to transfer all the content of the trunk on the rear seats if you don’t want to lose it on the street when driving back home.
I went to the dealer at least 7 times with same issue. They fix it. It works great for a couple hours/days and then it doesn’t work again. It is becoming a real nightmare. You don’t want to open the tailgate because you are anxious every time about it not shutting down and lock properly. When not locking it means you need to empty it, it beeps constantly, it opens suddenly letting the cold or the rain coming in and it means another couple days without using it, back to the dealership for repair, another day without using it, plus the back and forth to the garage.
I figure that I am left without the proper use of my car as many days as I can use it since I own it. Very very disappointing.
