We were in a life-threatening position when our family of four was driving on the freeway at 65mph in So. California in our BRAND NEW Subaru Forester, 2019, when we felt a jolt and the power suddenly shut off. No dashboard lights, no headlights, no turn signals and no acceleration. My husband was able to steer the car across 2 lanes onto the side of the freeway. It was AWFUL!
The Subaru master mechanic could not find any code that showed a problem and they could not replicate the problem, so they told us it was on us. Neither the dealership where we bought the car nor Subaru National is willing to take responsibility for this. There is clearly no concern about the SAFETY of their customer. We are not willing to drive the car again. We left it in Palm Springs and rented a car to drive back to Walnut Creek.
We have asked for a refund for our car and the dealer is saying it is up to Subaru National. Subaru is saying no problem can be found so they are not responsible. I have never encountered such a lack of integrity and concern about the safety of their product and customer! We will try to take this to the media.
