On two or more instances when my wife or son were driving, the eyesight system would repeatedly/continually alarm, saying the driver was not watching the road. There does not appear to be any one reason for this. I have not had this happen to me.

Forester Sport 2.5L

  • CVT transmission

Eyesight Lane Keep Assist caused the vehicle to swerve on the interstate despite the road being in good condition and lane lines being in good condition. The road surface was damp and I was driving west around 2:15 pm. Hardly a time when sun glare should be a problem. Had it been evening just before sunset, I might have chalked it up to sun light confusing the cameras. But even then, cars are driven into the sun all the time and advanced driver aids should be engineered to deal with sunlight issues.

This feature doesn't not work consistently. I visited the dealer and had them re-program in case I wasn't programming it correctly, but it only works sometimes. I called the dealer and they indicated that maybe the sunlight interfered with it. That definitely is not the issue as it will sometimes work after being out in a sunny parking lot. I only works about 25% of the time. I would definitely not recommend buying the touring package for this feature. In addition the leather is not good quality. Save your money. In addition the lift gate will sometimes lock up even if you have your key right in front of the button. This being my first Subaru, it will also be my last.

EyeSight having problems with detecting white/yellow lane lines, especially at night. The lane assist works periodically.
