I took the car to the dealership to complain of intermittent problems with EYESIGHT to include several problems of not working. I was told it is controlled by the computer and it was my job as driver to be the EYESIGHT!
I was in reverse. The reverse camera was working. I looked in the mirrors as is my responsibility. I saw nothing and proceeded to back out of the parking space. CRASH! I stopped, looked behind me again, saw nothing, got out of the car and saw that the tail light assembly was shattered as well as a scratch on the bumper. There was a cement post that should have been in sight that the car did not see.
I have a $1000 deductible as I NEVER have accidents. The repair cost was $1500.
I am looking to trade in the car ASAP. This is inexcusable. The rental car I am driving as my car is repaired is a Nissan and will hardly let me out of my garage as the car is a tight fit. Those rear warning cameras WORK!
