After 18,837 miles I had to replace my rear brakes because they were "Worn completely". Replacement was recommended. My Forester has only been serviced by the Subaru dealership where the car was brought. I was told "Because of where I live" and "Because I didn't use it enough" was the reason why my brakes went. So, at 71,000 miles, I am on my third set of rear brakes. I guess now after every 18,000 to 19,000 miles of driving. I have to get new brakes! I guess now I have to think about buying a new vehicle but it won't be a Subaru. The forester is my second one, I had an outback before that. I've owned three Subarus. Never had this problem. I guess the vehicles aren't being made to a high qualification. Too bad!

My questions are: how come I got 52,163 miles on the original brakes and not the second set? How come "Where I live" never affected my other vehicles? If I "Didn't use it enough" how can my brakes be "Worn completely"? Am I getting the "Run around" or are the rear brakes on the forester really that bad? Am I suppose to drive a lot of miles so my brakes won't wear out? How many miles am I suppose to drive? Did the Subaru dealership find a "Sucker" here?
