CarComplaints.com Notes: Subaru thinks burning through a quart of oil every 1,000 miles or so is perfectly normal. That's a crude stance if you ask us.

Again - another recurring issue with 2014 and 2015 Forester owners. Based on web search there are a huge number of folks having to replace the bushings or full front end lower control arms on their Foresters. I think having to do this type of front end work at 59k miles is ridiculous. I bought this car because it was supposed to be reliable but have had WAY more problems with it than any other car I have owned in 40 years of car ownership.

Forester 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 34,000 miles

THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE RUBBER OR SYNTHETIC USED TO HOLD THE BUSHINGS IN PLACE ON THE FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARMS IF IT WEARS OUT IN ONLY 34,000 MILES, ITS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT ALREADY. NO, ITS NOT A COVERED ITEM. ANYHOW IT SHIMMIES AT ABOUT 70 MILES AN HOUR,THEN DISAPPEARS. DEALER CHECKED IT OUT AND SAYS IT NEEDS BOTH LOWER CONTROL ARM REPLACEMENT, THEN HE TRIED TO SAY BECAUSE THE LOW MILEAGE ON THE CAR IT CAUSED THE DETERIORATION-GET OUTTA HERE!
