CarComplaints.com Notes: Subaru thinks burning through a quart of oil every 1,000 miles or so is perfectly normal. That's a crude stance if you ask us.

Three lights came on; hill assist, abs, and one other.....happened after service stop at Medford Subaru for transmission and differential service. Pulled out of the dealership and all 3 lights were on. Immediately called and they said to pull over stop and turn car off and then restart. Cleared the problem but a couple days later (day before Thanksgiving) while driving over Scott Pass in the snow the same lights came on, and, in a good snow storm the car drove very unpredictably! I had to drive very slowly and the car was very dangerous to drive! I continued as I knew the quick drop in elevation would get us below snow level quickly. The Subaru handled terrible and I felt lucky to get out of the snow without a problem. As soon as I got out of snow, I pulled over and shut the car down, which again cleared the problem.
Two days later (day after Thanksgiving) I left for home in heavy rain and the lights came on for the 3rd time! Pulled over and shut down again and lights again went out! Called Subaru and made an appointment for service. Service advisor told me it a brake sensor which needed replacement at a cost of $180. No choice but to get it fixed.
Why has this not been a recall by Subaru. Did my research and this has been going on for years with several models! Plan on filling a formal complaint with Subaru! Beware this issue in a snowstorm with snow made the car very dangerous to drive!
