Top of steering wheel is chipping away. It's typical vinyl material found in modern cars, so I wouldn't have expected it to last forever. 8yrs is fairly old for any car. Apparently you can use acetone + a scrub pad to "melt" and reform the vinyl, then re-texture it with a heat gun, and a texture pad. I will be sourcing someone local to do this.
