CarComplaints.com Notes: Is burning a quart of oil every 1,000 miles normal? Depends on who you ask. While Subaru says it's within "normal specifications," owners wonder why they need to top off their oil reservoir 4 times between every 5,000 mile oil change.

The vehicle seemed sluggish and hesitant until I entered highway. Later in the day when I pulled into a parking space at Wal-Mart the car surged forward violently and jumped the median divider into metal shelving filled with plants. The car was damaged and had to be towed. There were two witnesses who saw the car surge forward. They saw my brake lights on and couldn't believe what happened. I will have to wait until tomorrow to find out how the dealer will handle this. The vehicle was purchased new and has 2,500 miles on it.
Update from Apr 27, 2015: My insurance company, The Hartford, would not subrogate. My rate increased $565 per year. Subaru of America will not acknowledge that their is a problem. Many more similar complaints filed with NHTSA since my accident last year.
