CarComplaints.com Notes: Is burning a quart of oil every 1,000 miles normal? Depends on who you ask. While Subaru says it's within "normal specifications," owners wonder why they need to top off their oil reservoir 4 times between every 5,000 mile oil change.

Got progressively worse to where I was unable to drive over 45mph w/o front end thumping and shaking. Tires were rebalanced, and were rotated, but problem stayed in the front end and two tire stores couldn't find a problem. Finally went to another place and found the lower control arm bushings were shot. Couldn't believe they needed to replace A-arms and bushings at 68,000mi. and not covered by Subaru. Not a happy camper!!!
