CarComplaints.com Notes: Is burning a quart of oil every 1,000 miles normal? Depends on who you ask. While Subaru says it's within "normal specifications," owners wonder why they need to top off their oil reservoir 4 times between every 5,000 mile oil change.

On February16, 2017, entering into parking lot, turning right , with foot definitely on brake, instead ,vehicle accelerated and lunged over concrete parking block then into a three foot concrete retaining wall. No airbag deployed, nor did eye sight camera detect "an obstacle". The wall saved our life from preventing our 2014 Subaru Forester from plunging 20 feet below. Had two passengers in vehicle, one who sustained seat belt trauma . Damages done to front bumper, grill, hood and right panel and motor sounded extremely rough after impact. Had police come to take report that evening. Insurance Co. called same evening. I called our dealership next morning to report this freak accident of unintended acceleration and they mention no reports on such problem.
Vehicle now repaired. Upon pick up of Subaru I noted visually appears fine, but "internal function unknown at this time". Collision repair shop and Subaru dealership here performed diagnostic tests, and report all systems running fine. Am not in agreement as I know what I experienced and could have been a much worse situation.
Am seeking other Subaru Forester owners who have same or similar experience to respond to me.
Update from Mar 18, 2019: This brake recall for 2019 concerns me as it is what we believe occured to our 2014 Subaru in 2017, when the brakes would nott function and instead vehicle accelerated.
We have read similar complaints of USA Subaru owners, yet Subaru denied any malfunctioning upon inspection, yet we noticed significant improved eye sight camera function after vehicle was inspected for faulty electronics.
