This problem first started in November 2013 when the car had 93,000 miles. The check engine light goes on and the cruise control stops working and the code is for a vacuum leak. I've had 4 different mechanics address this issue. One put in an ignition coil, which was replaced by another one who said the first one must have been defective because no other cause could be detected after a lot of time spent trying to diagnose the problem. I've replaced the gas cap 3 times (twice with official Subaru gas caps) and finally, the catalytic converter replaced. I was able to travel from New Mexico to Missouri the last time before the check engine light went on again, a record number of miles! It's SO annoying to travel across the country without cruise control!
