When the car starts the radio is always on. I received a recall for the Harman radio system and made the appointment thinking it would fix the problem. The recall did not fix the problem. The dealer states that is the way it was designed. If that's the case it's a big design flaw.
When leaving the dealer, I turned on the maps to find the nearest pharmacy, since I am not familiar with the city. The radio was still on talking over the map directions. Because I couldn't hear the directions, I made a turn from the wrong lane, almost getting hit. I tried to shut off the radio, but the Map turned off too. I pulled over to get the map directions back but the radio was still on. I finally used my phone to get the directions and turned the radio off. This is dangerous because the phone has a tiny screen and the directions are not very loud.
