A crack appeared from the passenger seam of my windshield. It was 12" long before I knew there was a problem so there was NO WAY to have the windshield "chip fixed". There was no chip visible to the eye. I would have had to visually check every inch of the windshield to see the chip (very small/on the side of the windshield). This was the second chip in a month. The first chip we had fixed immediately to avoid a crack. And WHY does this windshield chip so easily?? AND it is SO EXPENSIVE to replace. I am afraid to drive my car on the interstate because of this. We have considered trading in this car to avoid any more expense of replacing windshield after windshield.
We paid a significant price for a nice vehicle. The quality of the Subaru is very well known. This model is only 2 years old but did not expect any issues. The windshield quality really sucks. AND to replace the windshield is VERY expensive. WTH????
3rd issue with windshield in less than two months. Had our windshield replaced twice in two months and paid over $2500. My husband had just left the dealership after having it replaced the second time and no less than 5 min of leaving dealership a small rock hit the windshield and caused a small divet in glass. Now we're worried that it's going to end up cracking.
We live in a city a frequently drive freeways with construction trucks and never had to replace windshields like this. You can't avoid small rocks from hitting windshield and there should be some level of protection but it seems that these windshields are defective. Two of these cracks were spontaneous. Next crack we get were trading it in for something more reliable and will never buy a Subaru again!
Second time our windshield cracked in less than two months. Just paid $1500 to have replaced the first time. Now having to pay over $1200 in less than 60 days. Definitely an issue with the quality of glass.
Spontaneous crack in the windshield. Don't remember anything hitting windshield. Just appeared out of the blue and had to pay over $1,000 to have replaced. Now on our 3 windshield in less than 6 months
