The Skoda Superb is manufactured in the Czech Republic by the Volkswagen-Audi group (VAG). It is based on an extended VW Golf/ Passat/Audi A6 platform & uses VW running gear. It is marketed throughout Europe. Since buying my vehicle in March 2016, I have twice had to call out the breakdown service to deal with engine-bay faults caused by rodent damage. In this instance, rodents had chewed through a vacuum hose from the engine to the brake servo. With no power assistance, my wife was unable to exert sufficient brake pressure to stop the car safely. Under the bonnet (hood), rodent damage to turbo hoses & wiring insulation is evident. The car shares the driveway with a 1990 Mazda & a 2000 Citroen. No such problems have ever affected these older cars, nor any of the other older cars we have owned over the years. I am certain that there is something in the composition of the under-bonnet hoses & wiring insulation that is positively attracting rodents. As well as not being able to book their useless vehicle in for repairs for 4 weeks, the dealership is refusing to make good this damage under warranty. Still, with the vehicle coming up to 2 years old the JD Power survey forms should be hitting the doormat sometime soon. Can't wait...
