The contact owns a 2009 Scion Xb. While driving 60 mph, the hood latch failed. The contact stated that the hood flew open and smashed into the windshield. Mac haik Toyota in league city, Texas was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall on the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to be repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 08V451000 (structure). The failure mileage was approximately 79,500.
