The contact owns a 2014 Scion Tc. While driving various speeds, the "maintenance required" and engine warning indicators illuminated without warning. The vehicle was taken to Toyota momentum in fairfield, California where it was determined that rodents had destroyed the wiring harness in the vehicle due to the soy based construction of the wires. The wiring harness was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that there was no recall on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000. The VIN was not available.
