2007 SATURN VUE HYBRID , 2.4 litre motor, CHECK ENGINE light keeps coming on & off. Had it checked out & then cleared. Now the light still shows knock sensor, battery generator, throttle sensor. The BATTERY GENERATOR has me worried on how to check that problem myself. I was skeptical about buying a HYBRID even though we got a good sale price on it

I am so sorry we bought this truck. We always liked Saturn since we both had a Saturn and they were great. This is a big disappointment. I have spent over $2K on maintenance since we bought it last July. It is a 2007 Vue, so I know buying used is always a gamble. Check engine light came on in May, AutoZone scanned and said O2 Sensor. Had it diagnosed at a mechanic. Same answer - O2 sensor. Finally had it replaced last weekend, light came back on. I went to fill up on gas after having it replaced. as I sat at the gas station after filling up, i start the truck and after about 2 minutes, the RPM needle jumped and the oil pan light came on quick then disappeared. Engine runs fine, but I am afraid to drive it. Cannot keep spending $$ on this vehicle. Now the passenger airbag sensor is on. I am not even spending another $400 - $600 for that. 2 hub bearings, 1 CV Axle, this O2 sensor, airbag sensor. please already!!!! if my credit was better, I would trade this thing in.

So not sure why the check engine light is back on. it doesn't always come on, but sometimes it does. Come tax time, we hope to have enough to trade it in. Good riddance.

Update from Aug 7, 2015: Also, bought it with torn sway bar, limited warranty didn't cover since it was torn not broken. Compressor was bad, but thankfully that was covered. Oh and the windshield fluid doesn't come out, so guessing there is a leak somewhere. Yeah, good investment..

Ever since buying this vehicle from CarMax, the engine light would periodically come on. When first taking it out on a test drive my fiancee had the light turn on while doing the test drive. The mechanics at CarMax told her that it may come on when the engine gets wet. Well, eventually, in our area vehicles have to go through emission tests and when the engine light is on they will automatically fail the vehicle. Taking it back to CarMax was useless. They said that they fixed several issues however the light would still keep coming on. We finally got the vehicle to pass.

The light still comes on periodically and couple days ago she was driving the car when it briefly cut out on her and then immediately came back on. Ever since the engine light has not gone off. Trying to figure out what to do?

After Saturn closed down from GM's bankruptcy, I took my Saturn Vue to Pep-boys for oil changes & service.

I had the tune up done there last summer, $1,700 including a new Bosch water pump, timing belt & a new timing belt pulley system with the hydraulic tension-er which needed replacing.

After five months, the Honda V-6 engine was running rough and the engine service light came on. I took it back to Pep-boys who ran the engine diagnostic codes. They said that the V-Tec actuator was needing replacement The tech went on to say that it was my fault for not using the right type of oil and getting it changed soon enough! (They had done all my oil changes up to this point! I used the On-Star system, to tell me when the oil needed changing.) Mostly the oil looked clean, never smelled "burnt" and was changed between 17-20 % oil life left.

I took it back to the former Saturn dealer, than a Suzuki dealer, now a Mazda dealer. They also hooked it up to their machine, which listed the actuator and or the engines computer as the problem of the engine roughness & almost stalling around 3500RPMs on the highway. I choose to start with replacing the actuator, which was not plugged or restricted from oil flow. (The car ran like new for about a week!) Than, the problem returned. I took it back to the dealer who cleaned some corrosion of some ignition wires. (The engine ran like new for two more weeks!) Than today, after two more weeks, the engine light came on, and the roughness returned, but not as bad.

I again took it back to the dealer and they ran the diagnostic tests again, finding fault with the car's computer.

The price installed will be: $939.00 I still have not decided if I am going to invest anymore money in this vehicle.
