The transmission which was a sealed system and unable to have the level checked by the consumer leaked fluid out, and it ceased at a stop light about a block from my apartment just 3500 miles after the extended warranty expired. (Of course Saturn only offered a 36,000 mile Power train warranty which was expired when I bought the car) No warning lights indicated there was an issue, and it was never brought up when the vehicle was serviced regularly at the Saturn Dealership. The estimate for a replacement was $2300. I traded the car in for a Toyota and haven't owned an American Sedan since.
