One thing the 2008 does share with the 2007 is a recall of a busted gear shifter cable which can make it look like your car is in park, when the transmission is still engaged. You can only imagine what kind of fun that causes.

Of course, I would fall victim to the same common problem - the six speed transmission grenades itself under 100,000 miles but its a Saturn so GM basically says, "you're screwed!" and laughs until they pee themselves.
Stranded on a rural road at night. Complete transmission failure. It was towed to repair shop, and I was told the transmission is useless. Needed a full rebuild. Looked at the parts - yep. Clutch plates were crunched.
$2,000 later... I'm not buying a GM vehicle again. Far too many people with this issue and no help from GM.
