CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2008 Aura’s issues with brakes, such as worn out rotors, isn’t as severe as the prior model year, but let’s just not start awarding them any brake awards just yet. Does that even exist? “The Brakies”?
One thing the 2008 does share with the 2007 is a recall of a busted gear shifter cable which can make it look like your car is in park, when the transmission is still engaged. You can only imagine what kind of fun that causes.

I bought this piece of sh** 3 years ago used with 24,000 miles on it. Had front brake problems from the start was still under warranty took it in and they put new pads and said all was good. Well that fixed the grinding but about a month later while braking bad vibration started and continued to get worse. A this point warranty is out so i took the car to my local garage had the rotors turned, again about a month goes by and problem is back. I was told maybe the rotors are warped so I replaced with new ones from Napa. Again same problem. At high speeds its very dangerous if i have to stop quickly front end shakes very bad. It also shakes at low speeds when braking. I cannot believe there is no recall on this, If anyone knows how to fix this I really would like to know.
