This truck was running fine, except for a few small recalls up until I brought it in to Croton Auto Park in Croton New York. The reason was to swap out the radiator do to factory defect/Leak and at the same time to perform oil change.
The truck had also recently been displaying a rear door open message on the dash and cargo bay lights would flash on and off. I was unable to lock truck because alarm would go off randomly do to this rear door latch defect.
Last but not least I asked to purchase an additional key fob. The day of the service I didn't even receive a phone call from the dealership to let me know If van was finished, so I just showed up at end of day expecting van to be all fixed. The dealership was unable to program new key fob so I was told that they had to order a new body control module.
They also had to order new rear door latch. The radiator was done and the oil change was done. I was told that the BCM would be ordered along with the latch and when I returned it would be about an hour to get in and out. I drove the truck home with no issue.
The next morning I started the truck to warm it up and I noticed a strange gurgling coming from the engine. This noise only sounded at idle and when you came to a stop. At driving speed it disappeared. The truck never overheated or should any change in engine performance.
When I returned A week later to have BCM installed the technicians said the noise had nothing to do with what they did but that the noise was coming from the rear of the engine. I had to leave truck and get a ride home because they did not have any Promaster rentals they could find.
The next day I was told that they found metal shavings in the oil pan and that they would have to systematically disassemble the engine to find the problem. It was two weeks later with not that much communication that I was told the problem was a blown clutch plate do to a problem with the Crank Shaft. They where told by Chrysler that they would not replace the engine and that they would ship new parts to repair. Those parts have still not been received by Croton Auto park, and tomorrow December 17th will be four complete weeks that my van is at the dealership.
I have called Chrysler Promaster customer service and have not received any help. Both the dealership and Chrysler Customer service do not give Two Sh*ts about me, My business or my van. I am so disgusted with both and wish I had never purchased this truck.
