Took the truck to the ram dealership to get the recall for the rear wheel studs replaced they did the job a few days later the wheel almost came off on the freeway. The mechanic didn-??t tighten the lug nuts we caught it just in time before something bad happened. That was 12/11/2023. We took it back to the dealership and they supposedly fixed it.exactly a month later and only 1500 miles on the freeway the wheels came off on the same side the studs were replaced. Tires flew off at 65mph and it hit 2 semi trucks luckily no small cars. Or it would have been tragic
The contact's company owned a 2014 Ram 5500. The contact stated while driving at 60-65 MPH, he heard an abnormal loud sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated the rear wheels detached and flew off, causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle. The stated the vehicle drove off the road, hit a ditch, rolled over three times, and landed on the passenger side. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact sustained bruised ribs, back, and shoulder. The contact was transported to the hospital with the assistance of emergency units. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's company office, where it was totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 178,000.
