2019 Dodge Ram 3500 went from 60 to 0 MPH in a few seconds into a dirt embankment. The truck was towing a 40' trailer with a load weighing 16,000 at time of impact. Truck would have rolled over to right but gooseneck kept it pinned upright. The front and side airbags failed to deploy. The EDR did not record an event at all. The truck frame was bent and cracked from impact and truck was totaled. Serious head injuries and should injuries occurred to Driver and Front Seat Passenger. We have serious concerns about the following:
1. Off Road Debris striking roll rate sensor will trigger fault in OCR system and cause airbag deployment failure--current recall on Dodge Ram 3500 2014-2016
2. TIPM Failures being reported by 2019 Dodge Ram 3500 owners in multiple forums. The TIPM system is responsible for EDR and Airbags among other items in this truck. Our truck was only 5 days old so we had not noticed any of the intermittent tell tale signs of failure--airbag light stays on with no service codes, ABS problems, and the list is long as this single component is responsible for so many key systems in this truck.
