The ABS module and HCU fail on newer ram trucks 2017 to 2018. Ram is aware of the problem but does not care and refuses to provide replacement parts. The NHTSA has opened an investigation yet so far refuses to open a recall even when this issue involves brake safety issues. There are two class action lawsuits open over this issue, one in California and one in Texas. NHTSA has received 177 complaints over this defect and many more have not complained at all. they simply pay for used parts and hope they work for awhile!

The epa has penalized Ram for selling Diesel trucks. They created epa regulations which are unreasonable to comply with and then the epa sues Stellantis out of business. It is their way of forcing out gas and diesel vehicles and forcing Americans to buy EV junk which will eventually leave us all without any transportation, this is the woke agenda. The NHTSA has joined this agenda and has become a political part of these warped individuals agenda! This is why they are no longer concerned with vehicle safety and refuse to issue a recall on ABS and HCU defects!

The abs module not covered under warranty and is common. Right now there are 762 on back order nationwide on this truck of which only 300 are in shipment to distribution. This issue is very common and a huge issue.

Truck has been sitting idle in my driveway for weeks. Just finished putting on Amp Research Powersteps. Steps work fine. It's been raining today and I decided to drive my truck to work.

Turned ignition to On and immediately got warnings that 4WD is unavailable, Parking assist is off Front and Back, "Service Electronic Braking System" is on EVIC, CEL and Traction Control lights are on. Engine starts and gear indicators are White but "P" is flashing. When I Shift to reverse, the whole truck shakes left to right and the gear indicators are all yellow and R isn't bigger to show what gear it's in. I shifted to Drive and can drive down the road, even made it up to 35mph to see if anything would change (seemed like the thing to do based on owner's manual).

Fixing to head to dealer first thing in the morning to see what's up.

Update from Jun 30, 2017: My bad. A plug under dash was slightly disconnected.
