The contact owns a 2014 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while towing a trailer filled with horses, the bed had detached from the cab as she pulled into her driveway. When the contact unhooked the trailer, she discovered a 6-inch gap had formed between the cab and the bed of the vehicle. She also discovered cracks on driver-??s and passenger-??s side frame of the vehicle. The contact called the dealer and was informed that her vehicle was no longer under warranty. No further assistance was provided. The contact then called her insurance provider and was able to drive the vehicle to an independent mechanic for repair. The mechanic replaced the frame and had both sides of the frame steel plated. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
