The contact owns a 2022 Ram 2500. The contact stated after he shifted the vehicle from the neutral (n) position of a completed car wash service, he then shifted the vehicle to the drive (d) position when the vehicle inadvertently accelerated at a rapid speed without warning while the brake pedal was depressed. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a nearby gate. No injuries were sustained. No medical attention was required. No police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer it was diagnosed that either moisture or air that controls the acceleration entered the sensor, but no repair was needed however, the contact stated that the traction-control warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a different dealer where the failure could be duplicated and the contact was informed that an unknown recall had been completed. The contact stated that the traction control warning light was intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided multiple numbers to call but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 19,970.
