ABS warning light and stability control warning

The waring light & chime go off repeatedly with the Warning message "Service Antilock Braking System", then "Service Electronic Braking System". The warning light with go off, then come back on and chime again, sometimes multiple times per minute. This is incredibly annoying when driving on trips and hearing the chime ding repeatedly. Further this is a real safety concern in that the ABS braking system is disabled anytime is in "fault" mode and the warning light is on. I tow a 5th Wheel on long trips and this is a hug safety concern for my family & I. I have had this diagnosed twice indicating error code C0020-01: ABS Pump Motor Control General Electrical Failure.

Parts dept at local RAM dealer first told me I needed to replace the ABS Control Module, but it was backordered. I ordered one from Mopar direct on-line and took to RAM dealer to have installed. The tech ran further diagnostics and determined the solution was to replace the ABS Hydraulic Control Unit and not the ABS Control Module. Unfortunately, the part #68143491AA/AB is on backorder per Mopar with projected ETA of December, 2022. There are so many complaints about this same error and so many hundreds of replacement parts to fix the ABS problems on backorder, that Dodge/RAM should feel compelled to rectify this situation with a National Safety Recall. Having no ABS braking capability is a serious safety concern. I would like to have Dodge/RAM replace the part and pay for installation ASAP.

I have a 2018 Ram 6.7 where the abs light and traction control light is on and chimes nonstop and my cruise control does not work also because of this. I purchased this truck new and nobody is willing to take care of this problem. It's to the point the truck has to sit in my barn while I drive my 2005 Ram 5.9 with 210,000 miles everyday because my 2018 will not stop chiming! This should be a safety recall! After all, abs and traction control are safety devices!

2500 Radesman 6.7L Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 27,745 miles

2018 Ram 2500 4X4 Bought new in 2018 only has 27,745 miles on it and the ABS / Statbility Control warning lights keep coming on. I bought the extended warranty when I purchased this truck. Additionally, all attempts to contact San Antonio Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram dealership have failed.

Update from Jan 10, 2022: Since I could not get a hold of anyone at San Antonio CDJR I decided to fix the problem myself. I purchased a Blue Driver OBD II scanner and it identified the Right Rear Passenger Wheel Speed Sensor and the Brake Pump Motor Control Module were sending fault codes. Since I realized that the wheel speed sensors job is to send a signal to the Hydraulic control unit for it to function, I replaced the wheel speed sensor first, drove the truck for about 1.5 miles and voila! all the fault codes cleared and now I can use the Park Sense, 4WD, Tire pressure monitoring, cruise control, stability control, Tow/Haul and most importantly ABS is working once again.
