leaking front right bearing (4wd), "new truck?
Bought truck at Bluebonnet Texas on 20 Jan 17. Noticed that front rt. Tire had stream marks. dealer told me truck had 7 miles on it? Drove home. Next morning noticed some "blue' greasy stream marks on same tire. (I guess Dealer knew about the leak, as Dealer used Polish (blue) to "remove" any traces from the front right side Rim.{BATSTUD).
Called dealer on 21 Jan 17, and sent an ugly email, as well, as I was pointing out "Texas Lemon Law".Told him about suspected leaking bearing. Drove 500 miles more. Noticed black grease markings on outside tire (RAM2.ipg) [grease also sprayed onto the front right inner - sorry no photo] , and noticed black grease leaking from bearing (see RAM1.jpg).
What is really annoying is that this truck is brand new!! Will keep you informed. May need 'legal advice', should the need arise. Hanseroo
Update from Feb 7, 2017: 6 February I dropped the truck off at local RAM Country dealership for them to evaluate. About noon I received a phone call from RAM Country, service person told me: "There is nothing wrong with my truck. I must have picked up some dirt from the road"(?). I told dealer I will be right over there. At Dealership Service Manager repeated that "the wheels are tight" (?) and there is "nothing" They could do to fix it. I replied: "this is BS" and asked him to put the truck back onto the lift. Senior mechanic arrived. He told Service manager and me that "yes, there is grease coming from the inside bearing covers, BUT NOT just from the front left hub, BUT ALSO from the right front inside bearing!!. He kind of repeated "there is nothing what we can do" . Again, this time I threatened with legal action, if RAM can't fix it. I left the truck with them. Later in the afternoon RAM Country dealer called, and service dptmt told me that They had ordered the ?parts?, and that parts would be at local Dealership by Wednesday to be installed.
