The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19V818000 (equipment, engine and engine cooling) approximately six months ago, the contact called hendricks Chrysler Jeep Ram Fiat of concord dealer (7630 hendricks auto plaza, concord, nc 28027) who confirmed that the parts were not available. The contact stated that when engine was idling it would vibrate. The contact then stated that recently, while driving a burning odor was detected, he turned of the vehicle, opened the hood and saw smoke in the engine compartment. The contact stated that the cooling fan fails to operate. The dealer was called several times and informed that the recall remedy parts were not available. The contact stated that he did not call the dealer to make them aware of the latest failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 385,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available (19V818000).
