On December 22nd 2017 while driving home from work around midnight, at 70mph on the highway, everything on my truck shut off, all lights, sounds, engine and all engine driven components. This was incredibly dangerous and had the highway been busier, likely would have caused an accident (flasher didn't even work). I was unable to contact "road side assistance" as they were busy helping all the other broke down chrysler products so I paid to have my truck towed to the dealer out of my own pocket (advised 90 days to get reimbursed...). The dealer did not have the parts in stock and advised it would be a month or more to get the Power Distribution Module as there were none in inventory. The dealer called today (1/15/18) advising that part arrived and they fixed my truck. The problem was corrosion in the wiring harness that caused the PDC and several other electrical components to fail catastrophically. Ram is aware there is a problem with corrosion in their electrical system and has not fixed it. I have had my truck for less than two years (purchased new in 4/2016) and put approximately 34,000 miles on it so far. It has been in the shop for three warranty repairs (uconnect died 6/2017 leaving all features of truck and ability to adjust settings frozen and the DEF system failed 9/2017 leaving the truck off the road while I waited for parts) and all three times I had to wait for parts. The first repair took almost two weeks (able to drive the truck but not make any adjustment to systems), the second repair took a week leaving the truck off the road and the most recent repair took almost a month to get the part leaving the truck off the road the whole time. Back to Ford I go!
