The high pressure fuel pump is disintegrating. It has been recalled in newer dodge rams But has not been recalled 4 2015 even though it is very similar and made of the same material. This has been confirmed with the dodge dealership as this is where it sits, so it is available upon request. We had a check engine light come on prior to the incident but was never Indicated when checked at the shop that this was the problem. As far as safety goes you never know when it is going to act up. It usually doesn't have power from the get go or loses power while driving, Putting people's safety at risk as it will slow down to almost stopping or not go at all. It also continually blows black smoke. It has been inspected by the dealership. It has been inspected by an insurance adjuster all confirmed the hype. High pressure fuel pump is the problem and there is shrapnel throughout the entire fuel system.

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 2500. While driving 65 mph, "def system 75 mph speed limit will be limited to 5 mph" appeared on the instrument panel. The contact drove the vehicle to winnie Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (located at 125 tx-124, winnie, tx 77665, (409) 296-3500) where it was diagnosed that the def fuel pump system failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because parts were not available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

Def gauge is stuck. I have traveled nearly 3,000 miles and still the gauge has not moved. I was checking on-line and seen where there was a recall on this problem with a prior model.

2015 Ram 2500 with the cummins 6.7 diesel, engine seems to loose all power during the initial start of accelerating from a stop light or stop sign for a few seconds. Which leaves me with partly in intersection like it stalling out.

New vehicle 2015 bought in 2017 as original owner. Leaking from headliner, can't inflate to proper psi due to instability and hydroplaning, rust underneath seating from water damage, exhaust smell when interior circulation button is not depressed when windows up. Multiple issues as new vehicle with 450 miles on it.

Deal throttle pedal when making fast accelerations due to rapid changing traffic conditions in city traffic. Pressing throttle, letting off and then pressing throttle again results in no throttle response for 1-2 seconds.

On 6.7L cummins diesel there can be an unpredictably long ( up to 2 second) delay between when the accelerator is pressed and when the truck actually begins to accelerate. This is not turbo lag (which may limit the amount of power until the turbo spools up). This is not a stumble. This is an actual delay in the computer applying fuel to the engine. It is total dead time as if the accelerator was not pressed at all. It happens under the worst of conditions, when you need hard acceleration and need it now. It happens when you attempt to accelerate quickly, especially when you were coasting or had just let off of the pedal. These are conditions that often occur in traffic with many other vehicles nearby. The long delay between throttle application and engine response is extremely dangerous. My truck has the latest "flash" from the dealer, it is running the most up-to-date firmware available from the dealer. Dealer stated that they know about the issue but have no plans to fix the issue.

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 2500. The contact noticed strong fuel fumes emitting from the vents of the vehicle. The fumes caused severe headaches to the contact and the contact's son. The contact's son passed out numerous times due to the fumes. The dealer was notified and was unable to provide a repair solution. The contact had an independent source test for carbon monoxide and it was determined that there was an extremely high level of fumes in the vehicle. The contact waited for months for the dealer to escalate the concern to the manufacturer. The contact and passenger continued to receive medical treatment. The contact was unable to determine when the vehicle would be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Fuel is venting from the vapor canistar, this fuel vapor canistar is located right next to the fuel fill hose and is tye-wrap to it.during fueling of diesel product the fuel tank is pressurized and vapor fumes come from this vapor canistar.the diesel vapor is not allowed to vent into the atmosphere so is suppose to be contain here at this canistar.also during fueling of diesel product the tank becomes pressurized as fuel is occupling space forces the vapor up the canistar what is happening I noticed is that fuel also comes out of the vapor canistar and runs down the outside of the diesel fill hose and on to the inside of the lower bed body.no fuel of any kind must come out of any truck, SUV, car during fueling.if you look on the internet you can find other Ram 2500 owners in the 2014 Ram model year experiencing this as well.I have notify Ram customer service and ask that a Ram engineer contact me or someone from Ram that understands this truck, to date no one has called me and that was 2 weeks ago.
