I have had the problem for a while. I only have 8,860 miles on the truck. I have a slight exhaust leak that has been blown off twice by 2 different dealerships here. The first one said the clatter was probably a lifter or 2, no big deal they all make noise. The second one completely blew it off and said they all do it. If that's the case Ram is building defective engines. I do have a slight exhaust leak, but the rattle/clatter sounds like lifters or possible piston slap. Its under warranty but that's about as worthless as the paper its printed on as dealerships say nothing is wrong.. I have bought Dodge trucks sense 1975 but THIS is my last one after this crap they are doing and will do everything in my power to inform all others. I am so angry about the way they just blow you off. Kasey

Update from Mar 13, 2017: The noise kept getting longer duration, finally about 90 seconds after start when cooled down. Had it recorded on my cell phone and went to service Mgr and played it; he thought it was a Cummings diesel, nope a 6.4 gas engine. Made apt and dropped it off. Found #8 piston wrist pin was loose so ordered long block and installed. Today is first day I had it back... The mileage on the truck was 11,646 miles sense new...

Update from Mar 13, 2017: the prior post I just submitted (replaced long block) is supposed to have fixed it. (NOTE: They found #8 wrist pin loose)
